W sobotę 13 sierpnia 2022r. w Domu Polskim SPK w Ottawie odbył się Bankiet z okazji Święta Wojska Polskiego połączony z obchodami 75 rocznicy powstania Stowarzyszenia Polskich Kombatantów Koła nr 8 w Ottawie, którego Mistrzem ceremonii był Wiceprezes Koła Kol. Józef Semrau.
Przed przedstawieniem dostojnych gości, Kolega Semrau nadmienił, że wielu członków Koła nie mogło uczestniczyć w uroczystym bankiecie z powodu podeszłego wieku, przebywaniu w domu opieki lub w szpitalu. Uczestnicy uroczystości skierowali do nich najlepsze życzenia i modlitwy.
Bankiet zaszczycili swoją obecnością, następujący dostojni goście:
• Koleżanka Major Ewa Ponińska-Konopacka – Dama Orderu Wojennego Virtuti Militari z córką Barbarą.
• Jego Ekscelencja Pan Witold Dzielski, Ambasador RP w Kanadzie, wraz z malżonką Anną i z synem Tytusem.
• Wielebny Ojciec Antoni Degutis, Proboszcz polskiej Parafii św. Jacka i Kapelan Koła.
•Komandor Krzysztof Książek, Attaché Obrony RP w Kanadzie, z malżonką Barbarą.

Po wprowadzeniu Sztandaru Koła nr 8 i odegraniu hymnów narodowych Kanady i Polski, Kol. Semrau odczytał Akt Pamięci:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
Następnie odbyły się krótkie przemówienia okolicznościowe nawiązujące do genezy ustanowienia Święta Żołnierza Polskiego, oraz 75-tej Rocznicy powstania Koła nr 8 SPK w Ottawie wygłoszone przez Kol. Józefa Semrau, Ambasadora RP Witolda Dzielskiego, Komandora Krzysztofa Książka, gen. bryg. Roberta Williamsa i Kol. Andrzeja Rutę.

Andrzej Ruta wręczył Koleżance maj Ewie Ponińskiej-Konopackiej VM, Dyplom Uznania “z okazji 75 rocznicy założenia Koła nr 8 w Ottawie w uznaniu zasług położonych w walce o niepodległość Ojczyzny, za wieloletnie zaangażowanie i wybitne działanie w realizacji celów Stowarzyszenia oraz za aktywną pracę na rzecz Kanady, Polski i Polonii.”
W imieniu ZG SPK w Kanadzie, Kol. Andrzej Ruta wręczył Prezesowi Jerzemu Kulczyckiemu Dyplom Uznania dla Koła nr 8 SPK w Ottawie "z okazji 75 rocznicy założenia Koła, i w uznaniu zasług za długoletnią i rzetelną pracę w realizacji celów statutowych Stowarzyszenia.”
Kolega Semrau odczytał listy gratulacyjne od Premiera Kanady, Justin Trudeau; Premiera Ontario, Doug Ford, i Burmistrza Ottawy, Jim Watson.
dr Elżbieta Komsta, Prezes KPK-Okręg Ottawa, pogratulowała Kole nr 8 SPK z okazji 75-lecia i wręczyła Prezesowi Jerzemu Kulczyckiemu Dyplom Uznania.
Podczas kolacji, przygotowanej przez Wedel-Touch of Europe (Pani Justyna Borowska i jej zespół), wyświetlony był pokaz przeźroczy z jubileuszu 70-lecia Koła.
Po kolacji Prezes ZG SPK Kol. Andrzej Ruta, przy asyście Prezesa Koła Kol. Jerzego Kulczyckiego, odznaczył członków Koła, którzy byli obecni, „Brązowym Krzyżem za Wysługę Lat”:

Następnie prowadzący całą uroczystość Kol. Józef Semrau wydał rozkaz wyprowadzenie Sztandaru, kończąc tym oficjalną część bankietu, co było sygnałem do rozpoczęcia zabawy tanecznej, która przy muzyce DJ Czesława (Kol. Czesława Wieczorek) zakończyła się w późnych godzinach nocnych.
W imieniu wszystkich członków Koła nr 8, najszczersze podziękowania wszystkim, którzy wzięli udział w tym ważnym dla nas bankiecie.
W niedzielę 14 sierpnia 2022r. odprawiona została Msza św. ofiarowana przez Stowarzyszenie Polskich Kombatantów Koło nr 8 w Ottawie w intencji „Ojczyzny z okazji Święta Wojska Polskiego oraz za żyjących i zmarłych członków Koła nr 8 z okazji 75 rocznicy powstania Koła nr 8 w Ottawie”. Mszę św. odprawił Kapelan Koła, ks. Antoni Degutis.

On Saturday, August 13, 2022 a Banquet was held at Dom Polski SPK celebrating Polish Armed Forces Day and the 75th Anniversary of the formation of the Polish Combatants’ Association Branch Nr. 8 in Ottawa. The Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the evening was Mr. Jozef Semrau.
Before introducing the distinguished guests, the MC announced that many members of the Branch were unable to attend the ceremonial banquet. They were either constrained due to their age, they were at a nursing home, or at a hospital. All Members of the Branch extended their best wishes and prayers to all of them.
We were deeply honoured to have in attendance the following distinguished guests.
Major Ewa Ponińska-Konopacka-Dame of the War Order of Virtuti Militari, and her daughter Barbara.
His Excellency, Mr. Witold Dzielski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Canada, and his wife Anna along with their son, Tytus.
Reverend Father Antoni Degutis, Pastor of St. Hyacinth Polish Parish and Branch Chaplain.
Capt. Krzysztof Książek, Defence Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Poland, and his wife Barbara.

After marching in of the colours and playing the national anthems of Canada and Poland, the MC read The Act of Remembrance:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Short speeches then followed, accentuating Polish Armed Forces Day and the 75th Anniversary of the formation of PCA Branch Nr. 8 in Ottawa, given by Mr. Józef Semrau, Ambassador Witold Dzielski,
Capt. Krzysztof Książek, Brig-Gen. Robert Williams, and Mr. Andrzej Ruta.
On behalf of the Head Office of the PCA in Canada, Mr. Andrzej Ruta presented Major Ewa Ponińska-Konopacka VM, a Diploma of Recognition “On the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Branch No. 8 in Ottawa, in recognition of the commitments made in the fight for the independence of the homeland, for many years of commitment and outstanding performance in achieving the goals of the Association, and for her active work for Canada, Poland and the Polish diaspora.”
On behalf of the Head Office of the PCA in Canada, Mr. Andrzej Ruta presented President Jerzy Kulczycki with a Diploma of Recognition for Branch No. 8 in Ottawa on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the founding of the Branch “In recognition of merits and many years of reliable work in achieving the statutory objectives of the Association.”
The MC read congratulatory messages from the Prime Minister of Canada, the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau; the Premier of Ontario, Hon. Doug Ford; and the Mayor of Ottawa, His Worship Jim Watson.
The final speaker, Dr. E. Komsta, President of the CPC-Ottawa District, congratulated the PCA on its 75th Anniversary and presented President Jerzy Kulczycki with a Diploma of Recognition.
During dinner, prepared by Wedel-Touch of Europe (Ms. Justyna Borowska and her team), a slideshow was presented commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Branch.
After dinner, the President of the Head Office of the PCA, Mr. Andrzej Ruta, assisted by the President of the Branch, Mr. Jerzy Kulczyki, awarded members of the Branch, who were in attendance, with the "Bronze Cross for Years of Service":

In addition, Mr. Jerzy Kulczycki presented a Diploma of Merit to Mrs. Barbara Fronc for many years of work for the good of the Branch.
The MC, Mr. Józef Semrau, then gave the order to march off the colours, ending the official segment of the banquet, which was a signal to start the Dance, which ended late at night to the music of DJ Czesław (Czesław Wieczorek).
On behalf of all the members of Branch Nr. 8, a most sincere thanks to all who attended this important and memorable banquet.
On Sunday, August 14, 2022 a Holy Mass was offered by the Polish Combatants’ Association, Branch Nr. 8 in Ottawa for the following intention: “For the Homeland on the occasion of Polish Armed Forces Day and for the living and deceased members of PCA Branch Nr. 8 on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the formation of Branch Nr. 8 in Ottawa”. The Mass was celebrated by the Branch Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis.
